Tecno Spark 7 Review – The Full Interaction

spark 7 review

Tecno is one of the leading smartphone brands in Africa, and they manufacture a lot of affordable smartphones that cater to the needs of the African market. Here today we are going to be taking a look at one of the most affordable Tecno smartphones you can buy right now which is none other than the Tecno spark 7. This also going to be a detailed Tecno spark 7 reviews.

The Tecno phone has a starting price of N49,000 in Nigeria for the base model that comes with 2 gigs of ram and 32 gigs of storage. It is the predecessor of the Tecno spark 7p that I have used. I’ve had the spark 7 for over two weeks and here I am going to share with you everything you need to know. The phone has been available in the country for a while but it didn’t get the buzz of the Spark 7P. the device is moderately sized at 6.5 inches and it is powered by the MediaTek Helio A25 which is an entry-level chipset.

Tecno is one of the most popular smartphone brands in Africa and this is major because they have a number of cheap phones. In my opinion, Tecno is one of the brands that you have to beat in the African market. They have a lot of offline stores across the continent which makes it easy to get their phones. Let’s talk more about the Tecno Spark 7.

Tecno Spark 7 Review – Everything you must know

Box contents

The device comes in a small box and inside you will find the phone, charger, micro USB cable, user guide, and manual, but you don’t get a TPU case as we have with other Tecno phones. You also get a screen protector pre-applied on the phone. That’s all you will find In the box.

Design

I love the design of the Tecno spark 7 because it is not a fingerprint magnet. It is a 6.5-inch phone that can be easily handled with one hand. It has a textured finish at the back that gives it more grip. There is a Tecno spark branding written boldly at the back of the phone. We have a fingerprint scanner that is quite responsive at the back. we also have two cameras at the back of the phone that we will talk about more in a bit.

The device charges via a micro USB but I don’t think we should expect anything better at this price point. We have the headphone jack and a microphone at the bottom. You might be wondering where is the speaker well it is situated at the front just above the selfie camera. it doesn’t sound as good as a down-firing speaker

The sim card and SD card holder are on the left while the volume rocker and power key are on the right. Upfront we have a notch and the bezels are noticeable. The Spark 8 is out and if you want me to compare it with the spark 7 comment below. Let’s talk more about the display.

Display – Tecno spark 7 review

the Tecno spark 7 uses an IPS LCD display and the resolution of the display is 720p. it is decent as long as you leave it on auto-brightness outdoors but it’s definitely not the best. The pixel density maxes out at 270 pixels per inch which tells you it’s not the brightest. So far using the display of the spark 7p is not as bad as it may seem on paper. You get good colors while watching content and playing casual games.

Software and Performance

The device is running on Android 11 Go edition and it uses Tecnos HiOS 7.0 as the user interface. The software experience here is not the best because the icons are not colorful and you get some ads while running day-to-day tasks. It comes with some pre-installed apps just like any other Tecno phone.

The Tecno spark 7 is powered by the MediaTek Helio A25 which is okay for casual usage. The variant I have with me comes with 2GB Ram and 32GB storage space. there are frequent app crashes in the background because of the RAM size. If you use the Go edition of android apps then you will get better performance from the phone.

It is not suitable for running graphic demanding games because lags won’t allow you to enjoy playing. The phone is okay for casual, and lite social media usage.

Camera

The camera is kind of decent and I won’t complain much about it especially because of the price of the device. we have a 16MP main camera and a 2MP depth camera. at the front, we have an 8MP selfie camera.

the camera is decent when you give it a lot of light. Here are some images make sure you rate the images on a scale of 1 to 10. tell me what you think in the comment below.

Battery – Tecno spark 7 review

The variant I have with me here comes with a 6000mAh battery. Tecno released the variant with 5000mAh in Nigeria. This is the variant that was released for the Indian market but I managed to get my hands on them.

Now the battery is impressive and it lasts for a whole day and more. I kept it on standby mode for more than five days and the battery was still above 70%. Charging is a problem because I’m already used to fast charging and this takes more than two hours to charge fully. Overall battery life is superb here and it’s one of the best features of this device.

Conclusion

As far as affordability goes I don’t think there is any Tecno device that comes in at this price point in the market right now. you might think the pop 5 is cheaper than the spark 7 yes you are right but the spark 7 is way ahead of the pop 5.

the specs look outdated but the phone is made for first-time smartphone users or as a backup phone. If you load android go edition apps on the phone then it will work smoothly for you. I didn’t push the phone to its limits. I used it as more of a backup phone to experience what Tecno built the Spark 7 for.
