It has the most exciting specs, and it is a suitable value-for-money device. I will share my opinion about the device in this review. The Infinix Zero 30 5G is one of the best smartphones released in the Nigerian Market in 2023 and it cuts across all aspects to become this good. Infinix Zero 30 5G Review – Starting With the Build

The Infinix Zero 30 5G comes with a modern design with a slightly curved display on the sides. The phone feels like a flagship, with a solid grip and a matte glass finish at the back. It is protected by the Gorilla Glass 5 at the front and back. The phone also has an IP53 water and dust resistance rating.
I appreciate that it doesn’t catch on to stains and dirt easily. There is a variant with an eco-leather finish, but I prefer the one I have with a glass finish. The curve at the back of the phone is almost symmetrical, making it perfect when it sits on your palm. It has a plastic frame but feels like metal because it doesn’t highlight fingerprint stains.
The camera island at the back looks unique, not outrageous, like most of the devices we see nowadays WITH Unnecessary forced designs. The color I have here is the Golden Hour, which changes color depending on how the light hits it. Other colors, like Fantasy Purple and Rome Green, also look great. It weighs around 180 grams, making it way lighter than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The phone feels great in hand, and the weight is well-balanced across the phone. The phone has dual speakers, one at the top and one at the bottom, which is rare to see within its price category. The audio that comes out of the speakers is decent. It is well-balanced with mids, lows, and highs. It is sturdy and well-built, and it feels premium in many ways. There is no flex, creaking, or hollowness anywhere on the phone. The build quality and design make me feel the phone was built to last.
The Display on The Infinix Zero 30 5G
The Display is everything for someone like me and at least 70% of smartphone users because we care so much about how detailed the display is and what we are seeing.

The Infinix Zero 30 5G has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 144Hz and Full HD+ Resolution. I can’t talk much about the display because it is one of the device’s best features. The screen-to-body ratio is 90%, making it feel almost bezeless. The display is bright outdoors and can reach up to 1000 nits of brightness when you set it to auto brightness. It has a 360Hz touch sampling rate, making it responsive when you tap on the display.
Thanks to their OLED technology, the blacks are perfect and have a contrasty display. I enjoyed watching movies on Netflix and YouTube with the phone. The phone has an optical under-display fingerprint scanner and permanently unlocks it. I didn’t have any problem with it.
One aspect I love the device so much for is gaming!!! The 144hz refresh rate, 360Hz Touch Sampling rate, and OLED panel combine for a perfect gaming experience. It was smooth, and playing games like COD was a joy. The settings have two display modes: one is called original, and the other is called bright. You also get a color temperature slider to tweak the color how you want. In the settings, you can change the refresh rate and set it to 60Hz, 120Hz, or 144Hz or set it to auto-switch between them. The display is incredible, and within its price category, no phone can challenge what it offers.
Just like I said earlier about how much I appreciate good displays, the Zero 30 5G is actually what I love when it comes to the display but it would have been 100% if we got HDR10 but we can only expect a higher price.
Infinix Zero 30 5G Software and Performance
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 6nm 2023 chipset. It has four ARM Cortex-A78 cores, clocked at a maximum of 2.6 GHz, and another four ARM Cortex-A55 ones, and the Mali-G77 MC9 is the GPU. The phone has 256GB UFS 3.1 storage space with 8 or 12GB RAM and an additional 9GB RAM, thanks to the possibility of memory expansion. The chipset is almost identical to the Snapdragon 778G and 778G+. It can also compared to the Google Tensor G1. It performs better than the Samsung Galaxy A54 and Redmi Note 12 Pro+. I played different games on the phone, and there weren’t any issues. The large RAM also makes app retention in the background a breeze. It also doesn’t get too hot when you push it to its limit while gaming. You won’t find a better performer within its price category.
It runs on Android 13, and XOS 13 is the user interface. The UI has many features, like peak proof, focus mode, etc. You can also customize the interface any way you want it. There are gesture controls and memory fusion hidden in the phone’s settings. It comes with pre-installed apps, but many of them can be disabled. There are rumors that the phone will get at least one major Android update, but we have our fingers crossed. I was also impressed that there weren’t any ad pop-ups while using the phone.
As an Adon, one of the best features I found on the Zero 30 5G is the anti-theft feature which you can find in the settings, I guess this feature is on all Infinix devices, but the smartphone I have with me is the Zero 30 5G so I am speaking for that device. The Anti-Theft feature makes it impossible for your device to be used if stolen as it will take pictures of the thief while trying to enter the password and fail multiple times, this is one of the interesting innovations that I don’t see on high-end phones like Samsung or Pixel.
Infinix Zero 30 5G Review – Camera Aspect
The phone has a 108MP primary camera, and we have seen some 2023 Infinix phones with the same 108MP camera, but how is it different? We will talk about that in a bit. It has a 13MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP depth sensor at the back. There is a 50MP selfie camera upfront, and it can record 4K videos at 60 fps. The camera app is well organized, with many features and options built in.

The AI scene detection feature automatically adjusts and suggests switching camera modes depending on your location. You can also disable the AI if you want. If you want more control, there is a pro mode and a short video mode with Snapchat-like effects and a beauty filter. The primary camera delivers many details when you use it for a picture. The colors are true to life, and the dynamic range is decent. It is impressive and can compete with other phones within its price or even do better in some instances.

You must also select the 108MP camera in the settings to snap with it, but it will give you large files. Portrait mode is also convenient, with an excellent separation of the subject and background. You get many details when you use the ultrawide camera to snap buildings and cars. The difference in color from the primary lens to the remaining two isn’t far off. Its selfie camera is imposing, and to me, it is one of the major selling points of the phone. The skin tones are great, and you get details, even well-rendered bits of hair.
You can use the 50MP to snap if you even want more details. The selfie is excellent, especially for your social media images, and there is a night mode for both the front and back for reasonable pictures at night. You can shoot 4K@60fps videos with front and back cameras, and the ultrawide can shoot 4K at 30fps. The camera effect has many video effects, including frames and LUTs. It is tagged as a vlogging device by Infinix, and it saves videos in H.264 codec, and the audio is in AAC inside the standard MP4 Container. Because of its quality, you can use the phone to record TikTok and YouTube videos using the selfie camera. As far as the camera goes, it is one of the best out there due to its features.

Battery Life of the Infinix Zero 30 5G
The battery is 5000mAh, and the chipset also makes the battery life last longer. This is what every Nigerian wants in a smartphone. A device that can go on for hours and still runs perfectly. I am not surprised about this part because Infinix has always been at the top when it comes to battery life, from the days of Infinix Hot 10T to the time of Note 20 VIP and even The latest Infinix Hot 30 Series.

It has an impressive battery life and can last a whole day, even with the device running on a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone comes with a 68-watt fast charger in the box, and it charges the phone from zero to 50% in 15 minutes while it goes from 50% to 100% in 50 minutes. The phone also automatically disconnects itself from charging when it’s complete. The battery isn’t a problem and is one of the phone’s strengths. The charging speed is actually a perfect quality that I love.
Final Verdict:
The phone offers real value for money in terms of its specs and features that make life easier and much more fun. It has an exceptional design with a display to match and the best-built design and quality. The 144Hz refresh rate on the display is what every smartphone gamer wants; Infinix added an IP53 water and dust rating and Gorilla Glass 5 at the front and back definitely, the price you pay for this device is not a waste and I will say the Zero 30 5G is truly a smartphone with Zero Errors. The camera and fast charging also make the phone an all-rounder. My only concern is the software and whether there will be an update for the following Android version.
