The Infinix HOT series has always been about giving you a lot of phone without making the experience feel unnecessarily complicated. With the HOT 70 Pro, Infinix is pushing that idea further.
The HOT 70 Pro combines a distinctive design, a high-refresh-rate display, a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset, a 50MP Sony camera, a large battery, IP68 protection and a growing collection of AI-powered features. It is clearly designed for people who want their phone to look different, feel fast, and last through a busy day.
But specifications only tell part of the story. The more interesting question is whether all of these features actually make the HOT 70 Pro a better phone to live with.

Infinix HOT 70 Pro Design: This Phone Wants to Stand Out

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro has what I call a standout design. The phone comes with what infinix calls a Sugar Cube Design.Â
Instead of simply placing a large camera island on the back and calling it a day, Infinix created a geometric look that gives the phone a unique visual identity.Â
That is important because budget and midrange phones nowadays look similar. Another thing I really like is that even if you use the phone without a case, it doesn’t show any fingerprint stains.
Depending on the color, the back panel reacts to light when it hits it. There are also a number of color options to choose from. My favorite is the Thermo Orange.Â
The phone is slim and compact, and the rounded edges make it sit in my palm comfortably. It supports two sim cards or one sim card and an SD card. You have to choose what you want.Â
The power button is on the right side, just below the volume keys. The power button also doubles as the fingerprint scanner. It is fast and reliable. There is an orange button below the power key, and it is called the one tap key.
The one tap key is essentially a customisable button that can open, run some AI tasks or open apps with a single touch. You can use the key to activate the AI Flash Memo. It can get things done for you and save you time.
We have a single downward-firing speaker at the bottom, and it sounds great. The USB charging port is at the bottom, and the phone charges at up to 45 watts. We will talk more about the battery in a bit.

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro comes with an IP68 water resistance rating, which is impressive. It is not usual to get an IP rating like that on a budget phone. I have seen people use this phone for underwater photography and videography.
And then we have the active matrix Cube.
What Is the Active Matrix Cube?
The Active Matrix Cube is one of the phone’s most unusual design features.
It is essentially a small customizable display element on the back of the phone that can show different effects and notifications. You can customize its matrix designs, while the phone can also use it for things such as incoming calls, charging, low-battery reminders, photo timers and notifications.
There are even small interactive games built into it, including Roulette and Lucky Number.
It is not something that will dramatically change how you use your smartphone, but it gives the HOT 70 Pro personality.
And honestly, that is one of the things the HOT 70 Pro does best.
It feels like Infinix is trying to make the phone fun, rather than simply making another rectangular slab with better specifications.
Infinix Hot 70 Pro Display: 144Hz Smoothness

The Hot 70 Pro comes with a 6.76-inch IPS LCD with 1080p resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It has noticeable bezels around, but for the price it’s going for, it is expected.
Scrolling through social media, navigating around, and playing games felt smoother and faster. Outdoors, the display was also visible, as it was close to 1000 nits of peak brightness.
Colors appear good, the blacks were well balanced, and the viewing experience while watching content or movies was good. The screen is responsive to touch thanks to the 240Hz touch sampling rate.Â
There is also an always-on display that doesn’t stay on for long, but it’s a nice addition, and you can customize it the way you want. Infinix also added motion relief/sickness relief on the screen, which might seem like a small feature, but it’s not.
These types of features are mostly reserved for flagship phones, but its great to see it on this phone.Â
I think the display is easily better than what the competition is offering, or it will match whatever is out there.
Infinix Hot 70 Pro Performance Test

Under the hood, the Hot 70 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset. Performance is amazing, especially for everyday tasks like browsing the web, calls, multitasking, and watching contact is all smooth.
You get 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2 storage space. For the price, its as good as it can get. You can also play demanding games on the phone without heating up or too much lag. Performance is good on the Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G.
Infinix also claims you will get 72 months of fluency with the Hot 70 Pro. According to Infinix, the phone has been certified A-class smoothness through a combination of hardware, software and other optimizations.
Software and AI Features of the Hot 70 Pro

The phone is running on Android 16 based on XOS 16. Infinix also said they are going to provide 3 years of major Android updates to the phone.
The software feels polished and responsive. I love the transparent glow space all over the user interface. App icons look sharp and animations are smooth across the UI.Â
What this phone comes with is a lot of AI features. We can decide to make a separate review talking only about AI on the Hot 70 Pro.
Infinix is one of the only brands giving you a lot of AI for this price point. One of the stand out features is Flash Memo and we talked about it earlier. Flash Memos information is stored in Mind Hub the idea is that instead of searching through hundreds of screen shots you can ask AI to find them for you.
For students, there is an AI class timetable: you take a picture of your class timetable, and the phone will turn it into cleaner, calendar-style information. There are more AI tools, including a document scanner and Folax, the AI voice assistant.
Infinix Hot 70 Pro Camera Review

The camera is another major part of the Hot 70 Pro experience. The camera is a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor.Â
The images from the main camera are detailed enough. Colors appear as they should and you also get good dynamic range in the photos.

In both daylight and nighttime photos, I was impressed with the shots I got.

You can depend on the photos for posting on social media or capturing memories with family and friends. For video, you can shoot up to 2K at 30 fps, but you need a tripod to keep it stable. Shooting at 1080p gives you stability while shooting handheld.Â
The selfie camera is 8MP, and I will say it’s detailed enough, obviously not on the same level as the main camera.Â
In good lighting environments, you can get high-quality photos from the selfie camera.

Battery and Charging Test

Battery life is another area where the Infinix Hot 70 looks strong. The phone comes with 6000mAh and support for 45 watt charging speed. It takes around 25 minutes to get from 1% to 50% and around one hour to charge to hundred percent.
During my testing, I was able to get a complete day of battery without needing to recharge during the day. I am a heavy user, and the phone matched my demanding needs with around 29 percent remaining by midnight.
For casual users, it can last up to two days. Infinix also claims the battery health can remain above 80% even after six years of daily use thanks to the Battery Self-Healing technology they designed. The battery is one of the best things about the phone.
Is the Infinix HOT 70 Pro Worth Buying?
The Infinix HOT 70 Pro is interesting because it is not relying on just one specification to sell itself.
It is the combination that makes the phone stand out.
You get a distinctive design, a 144Hz FHD+ display, Dimensity 7100 5G performance, a 50MP Sony IMX882 camera, a large battery, 45W charging, and IP68 protection. Then Infinix adds features like FlashMemo, MindHub, Live Photo, Bypass Charging, UltraLink and the Active Matrix Cube on top.
Some of these features will be more useful to you than others.
But that is actually the point.
The HOT 70 Pro is trying to be a phone that fits into different parts of your day, whether you are studying, working, gaming, taking photos, travelling or simply scrolling through social media.
The biggest thing I like about the HOT 70 Pro is that Infinix has not completely abandoned personality in the pursuit of specifications. The design is different, the software has some genuinely interesting ideas, and the hardware package is well-rounded.
