Will iPad & MacBook With OLED Display Coming Soon?

Apple could update the iPad and MacBook lineup by introducing a very tempting novelty: the much-loved OLED displays.

The current iPhone 14 lineup consists of devices with OLED displays and the same goes for the previous lineup.

Probably, Apple will launch new iPads and MacBooks with displays of this type. The transition to OLED displays will improve the quality of many products. It seems that the major display manufacturers of this technology are working to meet the future need of Apple.

In particular, it seems that Samsung and LG are working on the production of so-called hybrid displays: this specific technology would make it possible to obtain rigid and flexible OLED displays.

The first devices to mount them could be MacBook Air, iPad Pro 11, and 13 inches. The launch could take place as early as 2024.

To see these panels on the Pro line, it will be necessary to wait till 2026.

The switch from LCD to OLED will not cause the abandonment of technologies like Pro Motion. The company has introduced this possibility on iPad Pro for a long time and it will certainly be maintained on OLED displays as well.

Unlike LCD panels, OLEDs have some advantages including, for example, the ability to show black color by selectively turning off each pixel.

Other manufacturers have been offering this technology on their products for some time. Apple does not usually integrate all the technologies immediately on its devices: first, it waits for each technology to mature and only then decides whether to integrate it or not. This falls within the logic of the company which always wants to deliver products free from any possible defect to all customers.

Even if the rumors do not meet the expectations in terms of time, it seems certain that sooner or later Apple will integrate OLED displays on these products as well.
