Android 8.0 Oreo – 10 Features That Revolutes Android

Android 8.0 Oreo features

Google announced its 8th version of the Android operating system, Android 8.0 Oreo. While the day was turning to night, Google seized the time to make an eclipse moment event for the Android 8.0 Oreo Launch, I must say the launch was a superb one.

Google has been known for making its operating system (Android) names after something sweet, this really sweets the vision because the Android world is always a sweet and gives an amazing experience to users.

It is certain that android users will agree to the above statement. Android names from it early versions all came with a sweet name attached to its version number.

Another thing is that Google always name it Android versions in an alphabetic order from Android Cupcake and followed by Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat and now to Android 8.0 Oreo.

Meanwhile, the release of every new version of android always comes with a new feature and not just feature it comes with great new features that change the android look and capability.

1. Install From Unknown Sources Setting Disabled

Most of Android apps are all in a specific format (.APK) and this format can be extracted and be shared between different devices via attachment or file sharing apps on the device but before you can install this APPS YOU need to activate the “Install from unknown sources’ in the settings.

The good news is that “Install From Unknown Source” is no more on Android 8.0 Oreo Yayy!!! Not all apps are Malicious so you can now Install apps on your devices from any source.

2. Adaptive Icons

Icons on Android 8.0 0reo are special and different from other versions of Android. App Developers can now provide a full-bleed square shaped icon for their apps, giving it the ability to use different apps icon shapes on the device.

3. Picture in Picture Feature

Everybody wants it to be possible to have the ability to have two apps appear on a single screen at the same time, just like chatting on WhatsApp and be watching a movie on the same screen OR watch Youtube videos and be playing games at the same time. Android 8.0 Oreo brought along this feature and to me, it is my loved feature.

4. Background execution Limit

Having a long life battery stand is part of what everybody wants but most time our devices battery life are cut short due to some apps running in the background. Android 8.0 Oreo has put a stop to this and making devices battery last longer.

5. Auto-Fill API

Auto-fill currently works with Google Chrome you can visit your websites and you won’t need to re-type your passwords and usernames or phone numbers. Android 8.0 Oreo brings this feature into Android Ecosystem, this will be done with your permission for the Auto-Fill to remember your login details and get you into your apps at quick glance.

6. Notification Dots (Notification Badge)

This feature is a lovely one especially for users that have different apps that do send tuns of notifications from a different channel of each app. Example is the Instagram App sending you “Like” notication and also a “Comment” nofication plus a “Message” Notification, all this notifications get collected into on a single badge (Instagram app badge) making the nofication panel not too full.

“Users can long-press on an app icon to glance at the notifications associated with a notification badge in supported launchers. Users can then dismiss or act on notifications from the long-press menu in a similar way to the notification drawer.” Reads Android developers website.

7. Android Insatant Apps

With this feature on the Android 8.0 Oreo you can install apps directly from your browser without installing the apps on your device, WOW!!! what a wonderful feature on the Android Oreo.

8. Google Play Protect

Nothings is more peacefull than knowing that you are in a safe place. I guess that is also applicable when it comes to our files and apps on our device. With Google Play Protect your device are living in a safe enviroment as this scan your apps before you install them and  after installing apps. Google Play Protects is automatically taking actions behind the scene to keep your device safe and it is built into all devices with the Goole Play Store, also its scans up to 50 Billion apps everyday.

9. Find My Device

Security plays a major role in Google’s thinking, after the Google Play Protect, Google introduced a new feature called “Find My Device” which is similar to Apple’s “Find my iPhone” feature which help users to locate their lost device or wipe the devices and Lock the device if out if range.

10. 60 New Emoji

This feature of Android 8.0 Oreo is another feature that I really love, with the way internet is connecting people and giving people the ability to chat/communicate/connect with one another via social media apps, expressing thought with Emoji plays major in that aspect too and Google see’s that too and they add NEW 60 EMOJIS to the Android 8.0 Oreo Keyboard so you can now express your thought more without typing.

This are my top 10 features of the new release Android 8.0 Oreo Operating system making it the newest and sweetest version of android.
