Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Is Shown In A First Image

Big news for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5: the device will use a new hinge that will improve its appearance and functionality.

During the summer, Samsung will present the successors to the Galaxy Flip 4 and Fold 4. In particular, the Fold 5 will be a very interesting device not only from a functional point of view but also for some technical precautions.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 will use an unprecedented hinge to better preserve the internal flexible display. A prototype of the device was shown online which allows us to understand some of its fundamental characteristics.

First and foremost, the device looks like it will finally even out the gap between displays. Compared to previous models, no space will be visible at the fold and hinge of the devices.

Secondly, the form factor could vary slightly: the internal display could be less square than the current one to the advantage of using content on both displays.

However, the adoption of this new hinge will have to deal with some limitations that have emerged on other devices. In fact, it seems that the use of this solution reduces the longevity and resistance of the device. This is an aspect that Samsung will surely have considered before producing the first prototypes of the device. The new teardrop hinge will lead to an increase in the production costs of the device. It cannot, therefore, be excluded that one of the reasons that have held back Samsung and other manufacturers from adopting this solution is precisely the cost.

It also seems that the current hinge will still be used on the Z Flip 5 by not adopting this new system.

A few days ago the news about the Galaxy Z Fold 5 hinge had already been reported, but images of the prototype of the device leaked just a few hours ago.

Before the summer, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will certainly show itself in new images. The definitive production of the device could begin as early as late spring: that will be the moment in which the first definitive images of the device could circulate on the net.
