During the summer, Samsung is expected to launch the new Z series foldable devices. One of these will be the Fold 5. Here are some first rumors concerning the device.
The Flip 4 and the Fold 4 have certainly consecrated the folding sector last year. Devices belonging to this category are slowly obtaining increasingly convincing results, so much so that the sales forecasts for folding smartphones for the year are very positive.
Samsung was among the first companies to offer devices belonging to this new category. The announcements that have followed over the years have gradually convinced more and more users.
Galaxy Z Fold 4 is undoubtedly the most interesting smartphone ever produced by Samsung belonging to this series. The technical features enjoyed by the device were derived from years of experience accumulated by Samsung with the models that preceded it. The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 will continue to improve in every way.
First of all, Samsung seems to opt for a new mechanism for opening and closing the display. In particular, there is talk of the adoption of a solution contained in a patent filed in 2016 which will make it possible to improve the resistance over time of the mechanism itself. Furthermore, this new technical shrewdness will make the crease visible on the device display less extreme. The device will maintain an IPX8 certification.
The improvements will also concern the photographic sector of the device. We will likely see a new 108-megapixel photo sensor on board from the Galaxy Ultra devices. There will be a 64-megapixel sensor with up to 2x optical zoom as well as a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor.
The S-Pen is compatible with the Z Fold 3 and 4 but does not have a special slot in the body of the device itself. It seems that with Galaxy Z Fold 5 things will change and even for the S-Pen there will be space to insert it into the body.
Most likely, the processor that Samsung will mount on board Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2: the same one that we will find on board the S23 series devices due to be out in February.
Over the months, further rumors will surely arrive on the new Samsung device including, of course, the launch date of the device. As usual, however, the announcement should take place in the summer and precisely in the first days of the month of August.
