It’s been more than two months since Android 12 was launched and was immediately received by all eligible Pixel devices. For a while, only three Samsung devices had received this update. They were the Samsung S21 series, which received the update in November 2021, the Galaxy Z Fold 3, and the Galaxy Z Flip 3, which both received the update this month. One UI 4.0 also comes integrated with this latest version of Android. But according to a schedule posted on Android Authority, Samsung has listed the devices eligible for this Android 12 update and their respective timelines.
BIG BUCKS FIRST!
Accordingly, their most premium devices will be the first to receive the update before other mid-range and budget devices. The S21 series were the first to receive the update followed by both 2021 foldable; Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Flip 3. Next in line, according to the schedule, will be last year’s flagships; the S20 series, followed by some notable devices like the Note 10, some tablets like the Galaxy Tab S7, and Galaxy Tab S7 FE. The release will be rounded up by August 2022, when mid-rangers and budget devices such as Samsung A01 and Samsung A11 receive their versions of the update.
END OF THE SUPPORT ROAD
Considering Samsung’s new provision of three years of Android updates instead of two for selected devices, this Android 12 update will also be the final major firmware update for some Samsung devices. These include the S10 Series, Note 10, and the first Galaxy foldable.
