Sleep Profile Arrives On Pixel Watch: What Is It?

Sleep Profile is an advanced sleep tracking feature, included in the Fitbit Premium membership. Now it’s also available on Pixel Watch.

The integration between Fitbit products and services and Google is getting stronger. Google Wallet (Big-G’s contactless payment service) has arrived on Fitbit Versa 4 and Fitbit Sense 2 and Google Maps will also arrive soon. And now Sleep Profile arrives on Pixel Watch, the first smartwatch from the Mountain View giant.

What Is Sleep Profile?

Sleep Profile is an advanced sleep tracking feature, included in the Fitbit Premium membership. So, it’s not free but paid for. It’s a way to offer more information about sleep, and the sleep patterns we have over time, including how our routines affect the quality of rest with the aim of improving our sleep.

Now, Premium members can access their sleep profile in the Fitbit app with Google Pixel Watch as well as the latest Fitbit devices, including Fitbit Sense 2, Fitbit Versa 4, and Fitbit Inspire 3. The monthly analysis takes into account 10 different aspects of sleep, including sleep duration, bedtime consistency, and sleep interruptions, to provide a complete picture of our sleep habits.

All of these insights determine “our sleep animal,” which represents the type of sleeper we’ve been during that month. For example, a giraffe, the most common type of sleeper (22.8% of users), is someone who doesn’t sleep much but sleeps well. While the bear refers to those who tend to have a consistent sleep schedule, regularly falling asleep at the same times. Generally, he goes to bed earlier than most others and tends to fall into a deep sleep quickly. In this case, sleep tends to be long and restful, with a relatively high proportion of deep and REM sleep.
