The devices have one thing that will be difficult to separate them that is the camera but we will do justice to that here. For the sake of quick and easy understanding, we have to categorize this post.

Design Comparison Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra vs Huawei P40 Pro

The design aspect should be what we look at first. Here both phones have the same glass sandwich design. Both phones come with slim metal edges and curved glass around the edge. Â As to this regard, Samsung only has two color variants while Huawei has other color variants. Both phones come with IP68 Water and dust resistance.
They both have a similar rectangular camera bumps at the back we will compare the cameras in a bit.  Samsung’s phone has a larger display than its Huawei counterpart. The design seems like a tie but the Huawei offering more color variants and a more textured finish makes them take the design aspect.

Display Comparison
Should we really go there? We all know that Samsung has the best display in the market and right now only the Oppo X2 pro comes Close to Samsung.
But for curiosity sake let’s compare and see. The Huawei P40 Pro has a QHD+ OLED display and a size of 6.58 inches the Samsung S20 Ultra has a QHD+ DYNAMIC AMOLED display and a size of 6.9inches. if you are a fan of large displays then the S20 ultra should be your take. The Huawei’s display might appear sharper in some cases because it is small and also have the same pixels in a smaller space.
Both phones have a hole-punch cutout on the display, Samsung has a smaller cutout positioned in the center while the Huawei has a dual cutout that sits well on the left side. refresh rates are quickly becoming the norm this is for smooth and effective performance on the interface and we see the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra with 120Hz refresh rates while Huawei is offering a 90Hz refresh rate.
The phones also have an in-display fingerprint sensor but Samsungs ultrasonic technology is faster since it measures depth, Huawei uses a camera to take images of your fingerprint. Overall Samsung has a larger display and a much better screen.
The Display of the Huawei is still awesome and it is relatively smaller than might be why a lot of people will go for it.
Camera Comparison Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra vs Huawei P40 Pro

When it comes to smartphone cameras all the high number of pixels doesn’t always mean better image quality. A lot of things combine to give you great images from a phone.
The Huawei P40 Pro plus 171.9 x 78.6 x 9 mm has 5 cameras that include, a 50MP main camera, 8MP periscope lens with 10x optical zoom, 8MP telephoto lens, 40MP ultra-wide lens, and a 3D ToF lens.
The Samsung S20 ultras also have a Quad Camera setup that includes a 108MP primary lens, 48MP periscope lens with 10x hybrid optical zoom, 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 0.3MP ToF 3D lens. Â As you can see most of the features are the same you might think Samsung 108MP lens will place it ahead let’s explain.
The primary lens of the P40 Pro is 50MP with a 1/1.28 sensor making it one of the largest sensor ever. This allows for better details, light capture, and dynamic range. Samsungs S20 Ultras 108 Primary lens has a 1/1.33 inch sensor making it smaller.
The P40 has two optical zoom cameras an 8MP with 3x zoom and another 8MP with 10x optical zoom while Samsung has a single 48MP hybrid optical zoom camera.
In the ultra-wide aspect, the Huawei has a 40MP lens and the S20 Ultra has a 12MP lens. Both phones have a depth-sensing lens this allows great portrait shots and depth recognition. Software also comes to play on both phones this the phone to recognize colors and make the images come out as expected.
The Huawei P40 has a dual front-facing camera while a 32MP, and an IR 3D ToF the Samsung S20 Ultra has a single 40MP front-facing wide camera

Performance, Battery and Software Comparison
This Is another Important aspect. Both phones use high-end chipset and this simply means that both phones will handle even the most difficult task with ease.
The Huawei P40 Pro uses the Kirin 990 chipset that is built by Huawei.
Samsung, on the other hand, uses either their own Exynos 990 or Snapdragon 865 all the processors are octa-core and are clocked at 7nm. No matter what both phones are still top performers.
Battery
Samsungs takes the lead in terms of battery size with a 5000mAh battery compared to Huawei 4200mAh battery. The Huawei has 40W fast charging while the Samsung Has 45W fast charging abilities.
Both phones wireless charging abilities with Samsung having 15W while Huawei P40 pro has 40W. Samsung S20 Ultra has 9W reverse charging abilities and also acts as a power bank while the Huawei has a 27W reverse charging only.
Software
Now here is where Samsung will take the ultimate lead. Both devices run on android 10 and Samsung has the OneUI 2 has user interface Huawei uses its own EMUI 10.1 as the interface. Huawei doesn’t come with play store or Google services installed.
You have to use some open-source form of android and this might end up being a deal-breaker for many. Huawei is continuously building its app gallery and hopefully, we hope more developers will work with Huawei so we can have access to our favorite apps.
The Huawei P40 has only 8GB Ram Variant but Samsung comes with either 12 or 16GB of Rams
The True Flagship Experience
The presence of Google service on the Samsung Galaxy S20 ultra places it ahead of the Huawei P40 Pro. This alone allows it to offer a true flagship experience
Huawei P40 Pro seems to offer more in terms of cameras. Display-wise Samsung has to be ahead from the small cut out and a larger display and less bezels and chin.
Buying the Huawei P40 would be difficult because no matter what it all ends up on daily usage and the lack of support from Google services will change the narratives in this aspect.
