Razer Edge Is The Game Console With Android And 5G

Razer Edge is an Android-based gaming console with 5G connectivity. The display is touch, but Razer controllers are included in the package.

Razer is among the most active brands in the gaming field, placing itself as a rival to the ROG line of ASUS. The brand has now announced Razer Edge, a sort of smartphone with features designed for gaming, so much so that it can be defined as a game console with Android and 5G connectivity.

No more cables hanging around or no more needing to search for a Wi-Fi network to play games, Razer Edge will make gaming portable and accessible anywhere, anytime.

Razer Edge will offer 5G Ultra Wideband connectivity and integrate the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 Gaming Platform.

This platform will be equipped with a 3 GHz octa-core Kryo CPU and an Adreno GPU designed to offer maximum graphics performance. It seems, in fact, that it will offer triple the performance compared to standard mobile platforms such as Snapdragon 720G, which we find on smartphones such as Samsung’s Galaxy A52.

The device will have thousands of compatible AAA games and some titles will be pre-installed, such as Epic Games, and some cloud streaming services such as Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) and Nvidia GeForce Now.

There will also be remote play options that will offer full access to PC libraries like Steam Link, Moonlight, Parsec, and Xbox.

The console will provide a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with Full-HD + resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hertz, an important value in the gaming field. The display will obviously be touch, but the games can also be controlled by connecting the Razer Kishi V2 Pro controllers, included in the package, with haptic feedback and the 3.5 mm audio jack.

The rest of the features will include 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal memory expandable up to 2 TB via microSD, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and 5,000 mAh of battery. On the price and availability, there are still some question marks.

The arrival of the Razer Edge is expected in early 2023 at an unknown figure.
