OneUI 5.1 Has Autonomy Problems On Samsung Smartphones

The South Korean firm’s latest interface update seems to be causing battery issues on several smartphone models.

Samsung recently unveiled OneUI 5.1, the latest version of its Android GUI, which debuted with the Galaxy S23 series smartphones. After the announcement of the new top-of-the-range, the South Korean company has also started releasing the update for other older models, as it has become accustomed to us in recent years. This time, however, it seems that something has not gone right. In fact, many users report problems with the battery after the update.

Most seem to be experiencing problems with the autonomy of the device, which is drastically reduced. The problem could be caused by excessive heating of the smartphone, especially on models of the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 series. Currently, there are no clear indications as to the cause of this abnormal battery consumption, but some users have tried to carry out tests and have probably discovered the cause of the problem.

According to a user of the Reddit platform, official Samsung apps, such as the keyboard, use the battery much more than necessary. The problem has already been reported to the South Korean company, but at the moment there is still no official solution to the problem. Surely it will be a software bug triggered with the latest version of One UI, for which a new update will most likely be needed.

Unfortunately, until the Seoul giant takes a position on the matter, or better still a new software update, it will be very difficult to discover the real nature of the problem and the root cause. The only advice we can give you at the moment is not to update: we assume that a corrective patch is already in the works and will certainly not be long before being released. In any case, it should be emphasized that the support provided by Samsung in terms of software is the best available today in the panorama of the green robot. We’ll see if it will be effective in this round as well.
