Mukhyamantri Nischay Swayam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana or in short, the MNSSBY is an ambitious scheme initiated by the Bihar government for providing financial assistance to students. Those who have passed the 12th standard but have not yet secured a job will get an allowance under the MNSSBY.
The objective of Launching the MNSSBY
Under the Mukhyamantri Nischay Swayam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana, the Bihar Government is to provide an allowance of Rs. 1,000 every month to the students. Its main purpose is to help beneficiaries to some extent so that they do not face financial difficulties while searching for a job. They can use the amount to meet expenses incurred during the preparation phase of the government examination.Â

Eligibility Criteria to be a Beneficiary of MNSSBY
You need to meet the following eligibility parameters to get the benefit of MNSSBY:
- You need to have passed the 12th board exam and should be in the process of finding a job.
- It is also mandatory that you complete your education from a school affiliated with the Bihar Government, but have not started your higher education yet.
- You will be able to get this benefit if you do not receive any scholarship or have any student credit card, student loan, or allowance from any other source.
- You must not be engaged in any governmental or non-governmental permanent/temporary job. Further, you should also not be a self-employed individual.
How to Apply for the MNSSBY Scheme
Following is the process to apply for this MBSSBY scheme online:
Step 1: Visit the MNSSBY official website at https://www.7nishchay-yuvaupmission.bihar.gov.in/Â
Step 2: Register yourself by clicking on the option titled ‘New Applicant Registration’
Step 3: Enter the required details and submit them
Step 4: Generate the OTP and submit it for the authentication
After your successful registration, you will get an application ID and a PDF of your application form on your mobile number and email ID. Besides this, you will also get information about the documents you will have to submit and the date of submission.
You will have to visit your district registration centre for the MNSSBY and submit your printed application form with all your documents and passport-size photos on the given date. From that office, you will get a token number and a receipt for submission of the application. You should save those for future reference.
Documents Required While Applying for the MNSSBY Allowance
You will have to submit the following documents to the district registration centre while applying for the MNSSBY allowance:
- 12th pass certificate
- 10th pass certificate
- Residential proof
- Photocopy of the passbook of your savings account
- Aadhaar card
Thus, you will have to apply online and complete the verification and documentation offline to get enlisted as a beneficiary of MNSSBY.
In this regard, you also need to know that, to complement the MNSSBY, the Bihar Government has also another scheme named Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme or the BSCCS. While the MNSSBY aims to assist students financially to make preparation for jobs, the BSCCS lets 12th passed students borrow up to Rs. 4 Lakhs so that they pursue higher education. You can use the borrowed capital to finance your educational expenses while pursuing degrees or courses like BA, BSc, B.Tech, MBBS, etc.
The application and documentation processes are similar to that of MNSSBY registration. In fact, you will have to visit the same website.
Eligibility Criteria for the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme
You need to meet the following eligibility parameters to be eligible for the BSCCS yojana:
- You need to be a 12th-pass student and a resident of Bihar
- Your age should be below 25 years
- You must get admission to an authorized institution
- It is necessary that you complete your entire courseÂ
How to Apply for Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme
Here is the stepwise process you will have to follow to apply for the BSCCY online:
Step 1: Visit https://www.7nishchay-yuvaupmission.bihar.gov.in/ and login into your user account
Step 2: Click on ‘Select Scheme’ and choose the ‘Bihar Student Credit Card’ option
Step 3: Enter your personal details along with the information about your co-applicant
Step 4: Click on ‘Submit’
With this, you will complete your application process.
Here, you will also need to know that this Bihar Student Credit Card comes with an end-usage restriction. It is not like regular credit cards which entitle you to pay for non-educational expenses. So, you can apply for a non-student credit card as well to meet your diverse financial needs.
