2023 will be the year of the iPhone 15, but the rumors about the 2024 model are already numerous. With iPhone 16, FaceID may hide under the display.
iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and Pro Max are the latest models presented by Apple. The company will also launch the iPhone 15 series during the year which will probably be characterized by important innovations from the point of view of lineup differentiation. The new series of iPhones to be released in the autumn seems to be ready by now: Apple has in fact already started the first production test.
The market seems to have taken a very clear path: current devices place the screen at the center of everything. With this in mind, cameras and sensors have always found a place at the edges of displays or, more commonly, in specific areas. Apple, for example, introduced the Notch with iPhone X and then modified it with the iPhone 13 series. Last year, with the introduction of the iPhone 14 Pro models, Apple brought a new solution to the problem to the market by creating Dynamic Island.
In this scenario, what will be the next evolution? With iPhone 16, according to leaked rumors, the company could opt for a solution expected by all enthusiasts and hide the FaceID under the display.
The rumor speaks of a FaceID invisible when it is not used and visible only when it comes into operation. As for the camera, Dynamic Island may not disappear. Indeed, it seems that the latter will still house the front camera, but it will be less evident when using the iPhone.
There is also news for the iPhone 15: it is probable that all devices in the Apple series, it will decide to integrate Dynamic Island instead of the Notch.
Will there come a time when the front camera of the iPhone will also be hidden under the display? It cannot be excluded, but Apple will wait for these solutions to mature before introducing them on its own device. Some manufacturers have already tried to hide the front photo sensor as well, but the sensor area is easily recognizable when using the device.
