Infinix Note 7 vs Infinix Note 7 Lite: All Aspect Comparison

Infinix recently announced the new note 7 series and its only right if we do a proper infinix note 7 vs infinix note 7 lite comparison. The infinix note 7 is clearly an upgrade from note 6 but the lack of the Spen on note 7 has led to many people questioning if the upgrade is worth it.

To make things even better infinix launched two models of the note 7 this year. Interestingly the phones come with new chipsets from mediatek which is a step in the right direction. Both phones share similarities as well as differences and that what we are going to take a look at in this post today.

We will breakdown this post into categories for better and easy understanding.

Infinix Note 7 Vs Infinix Note 7 Lite – The Series

Design

Both devices have a plastic design at the back with glass at the front but the infinix note 7 has gorilla glass 3 protection at the front. Design-wise both devices look alike its only their dimensions that differ with the infinix note 7 being taller.

The note 7 lite weighs 185g while the note 7 weighs 206g. One of the things I like about these new devices is that both fingerprint sensors are on the right side of the device but there’s an option for face unlock.

There is a round camera bump that houses the quad-camera setup at the back of the infinix note 7 while the note 7 lite has a rectangular camera bump we will review the cameras in a bit. At the front, both devices have an all-screen spotting an Infinity O display as infinix calls it. Design is identical on both devices and nothing separates the phones.

Display Comparison Infinix Note 7 vs Infinix Note 7 Lite

In this aspect, note 7 has a larger 6.95-inch display and it’s not for users with small hands the note 7 lite on the other hand spots a 6.6-inch display. Both devices have a 720p resolution display I honestly expected a 1080p resolution on both devices.

The phones have IPS LCD display panels with minimal bezels and chin in this aspect the much bigger display on the note 7 makes it ahead of the note 7 lite because The bigger screen will be more suitable for gaming and media consumption.

Camera Comparison

In the camera department, both devices come with a 48MP primary shooter. Other cameras include a 2MP depth sensor, another 2MP macro lens. The note 7 crowns it off with a 2MP dedicated video camera while the lite version has a QVGA lens. The camera is pretty much the same on both devices. They both shoot 1080p videos at 30fps but lack any sort of image or video stability.

There won’t be any difference in image processing as the software is the same on both devices. In this aspect comparison, I see it as a draw as none of the devices can outperform each other.

At the front, the note 7 has a 16MP camera while the Infinix Note 7 lite has an 8MP selfie camera. This simply means the regular Infinix Note 7 will take clearer pictures with the selfie camera.

Performance, Storage And Software

Both phones run on Android 10 which means you will get the improved gesture navigations and system-wide dark mode. The updated XoS 6.0 is the user interface and it comes with bloatware that can be uninstalled.

The chipset that powers both phones is the new MediaTek Helio G70 gaming processor. This actually excites me because you are getting a far better experience from both devices. Benchmark scores rank the new MediaTek Helio G70 processor ahead of the Snapdragon 625 which is interesting.

I personally expected to see infinix go in this direction and I’m happy about that. The devices have an octa-core CPU and the Mali-G52 2EEMC2 is the GPU.

Storage Options

Infinix Note 7 – 64GB/4GB, 128GB/4GB and 128GB/6GB

Infinix Note 7 lite – 64GB/4GB, 128GB/4GB

Battery Comparison

In this aspect both devices come with a 5000mAh battery they both support fast charging which is something I’ve clamored for from infinix. The Note 7 supports 18W fast charging while the Note 7 lite supports 10W fast charging.

Charging would be significantly fast on both devices. The Note 7 will charge from 0 to 100% in under 2hrs while the Note 7 lite will take a few minutes more.

General Thoughts On Both Devices

Both devices are great and inseparable device is targeted at people that love huge displays while the other is targeted at those that like smaller screens. The devices will serve you well because they have similar specifications. if I’m to pick I’ll go with the Note 7 lite because of its size.

Also, I feel we might get the Note 7 pro that will come with an SPen. There are things I expected and if those things were added to these devices would have overthrown the infinix Note 5 as my best Infinix device ever.

This includes a 1080p resolution, Type C USB port, and the SPen. Nonetheless, these new devices are still the best we’ve seen from the brand in a while. And they any of them that you choose to buy will serve you great.
