Huawei released the much anticipated Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30 in a live event in Munich, Germany.
It is the latest flagship to be released by the smartphone phone brand. The Mate 30 series has the Mate 30 and the Mate 30 pro.
Both devices come with leica branded rear cameras housed in a circular camera cutout Huawei calls it the “halo ring design”.
Huawei Mate 30 Pro
The Mate 30 pro has a 6.53 inch screen that is curved around its edges. Since the device has a curved screen Huawei didn’t use the normal volume rocker key. Instead they went for a new touch sensitive technology.
It comes with a waterfall display with curves at 88 degrees angle. The Mate 30 pro has a 4500mAh battery capacity and also supports 40W fast charging and 27W while on reverse charging.
The most important aspect is the camera. The quad camera setup has a 40MP primary sensor, 40MP ultra wide sensor, 8MP telephoto sensor and a 3d depth sensor. It ships with a 32MP (wide) selfie shooter.
The Mate 30 pro comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of Internal storage.
Huawei Mate 30
On the other hand the Mate 30 has the normal looks with a bigger display of 6.62 inch. It has a 4200mAh battery capacity.
Also supports 40W fast charging and 27W while on reverse charging. It also has the Same quad camera setup at the back but this time the specs are different.
A 40MP primary camera, 16MP ultra wide, 8MP telephoto and a laser focus camera. The device comes with a 24MP single selfie camera.
Huawei Mate 30 comes with 6 or 8 GB RAM but the internal storage is 128 GB.
Both devices come with the the all new Huawei Kirin 990 chip. The first Huawei chip to support 5G. They both come with android 10 together with EMUI 10.
Both devices come with an optical in display fingerprint scanner. Another similarity is the type C reversible connector spotted on both devices.
However, this are trying times for the brand as a result of the ban that has been placed on the Chinese tech giants by the US government.
Their inability to do business with companies in the US has been a serious threat to the smartphone brand.
Google earlier stated that new products will not come with Google services and apps. Let’s keep our fingers crossed as we wait to see how Huawei will address this issue.
