Galaxy S23: The Price Could Be Higher Than Previous Years

Samsung seems to be increasing the price lists of the new Galaxy S23. However, the upward adjustment is in line with that seen with other competitors.

On February 1, Samsung will announce the new Galaxy S23 series which will steal the top-of-the-range crown from the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra.

In addition to the news in the technical data sheet and in the design, the new devices could reserve surprises also as regards the price.

In particular, according to rumors spread on American portals, all the new Galaxy S23s could see an increase in the price list. In the USA, the price could increase by around $100 for each model. The only positive note is that the new devices should accommodate well 256GB of basic memory: double compared to previous models.

That the price is an unpleasant novelty already seen with other producers. Apple itself raised the price of iPhones globally last fall. In that case, the price had been adjusted to the new exchange rates against the US dollar which were unfavorable with almost all currencies. Other manufacturers have also followed the path taken by Apple.

Samsung seems concerned about the current macroeconomic situation and expects a decline in global sales in 2023 and has already said it is ready to deal with the problem. Raising prices could be part of the strategy to counteract the decline in sales.

There is also to consider the increase in the cost of raw materials and energy which negatively affects the final price of the products. The February 1 conference will certainly clarify any doubts on this point as well.

A few days after the launch, it will certainly be possible to find all the models of the new Galaxy S23 series at a reduced price compared to the list price.

Those who intend to buy an excellent smartphone, but want to save money, can consider buying an older model. Samsung will update the entire current S22 lineup to the new One UI 5.1. If the increases arrive, there will always be the possibility for consumers to save by following the advice just read.
