Dell XPS 13 2020 Review
Dell XPS 13 Price in Nigeria
The Dell XPS 13 price in Nigeria starts off at N426,000 in Nigerian currency which is $1,100 US Dollars. But with the configuration for powerful hardware and better displays the new Dell XPS 13, the price tag goes for about $2,500
Design and Display
At first sight of the XPS 13 (2020), it’s an absolute stunner with extremely lightweight at 2.8 pounds (1.27kg), but it’s super sleek, measures at 14.8mm. This makes the Dell XPS 13 (2020) an incredibly easy laptop because Dell has ditched all the bezels on each side of the display. With the side bezels measuring 0.15” to 0.2”, and the bottom bezel to 0.18”.
The keyboard of the XPS 13 is what dell calls an EDGE TO EDGE keyboard, whereby both edges of the keyboard is very close to the edges of the laptop, below is an incredibly smooth touchpad which is 17% larger than its predecessor. The keyboard was built for key travel which is comfy for typing.
The XPS 13 (2020) is a 13.4-inch touchscreen, 1920 x 1200 4K display, with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The brightness of this laptop is up to 500nits and an sRGB color score of 115%, however, the dell cinema utility program makes the color pop to give that crispy and vivid visual.
The speaker of the laptop is located at the bottom, has a Thunderbolt 3 port on the right with a headset jack. On the left, you’ll find another Thunderbolt 3 port and a micro SD slot.
Performance
A lightweight laptop, with a powerful processor that hit like a heavyweight. An Intel Core i7-1065 G7 Ice Lake processor (Quad-core, 8-thread mobile processor built off of Intel’s Ice Lake architecture).
The ice lake processor provides enough power for pretty much any normal task but might struggle in high demanding power workloads like Gaming. The GPU “Intel Iris,” is except to be 2x more powerful than the integrated graphics ”Whiskey Lake processors”.
On Benchmark Overall testing, the XPS 13 achieved scores above the premium laptop average (16,670), which was above the HP Spectre x360 & Prestige 14 scores.
When it comes to the transfer speed of files in the XPS 13, it’s super-fast, except a transfer rate of 613.1 megabytes per second.

Generally, the Ice Lake was built towards media consumption than raw performance, whereas the GPU inside wasn’t really designed for hard-core gaming, but still manageable.
Now, most laptops overheat when been used, but the Dell XPS 13 when been used manages to stay cool for a long period of time. Which is super impressive.
The measured heat of the XPS 13 range from 75 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
Battery Life
The Dell XPS 13 performs really well, you’d expect long battery life for full day work. The laptop can last a whopping 8 hours to 14 hours Daily depend on your various task on the laptop.
A Good Buy or Not…..
For a thinner bezel, a speedy SSD, a lovely display, longer battery life, a comfy keyboard, sleeker and thin design… A good buy even if the audio quality might not be the best.
Dell has really been pushing the word toward the means of technology and what it stands for with the XPS 13.
