As gamers, we know that our hobby requires some serious hardware. So, when it comes time to build or upgrade our gaming PC, what are the best Pc components to choose?
CPU:
First and foremost, you’ll need a powerful processor. For gaming PCs, we recommend something from Intel’s latest Core i7 lineup. The Core i7-9700K is a great option, offering eight cores and eight threads of performance. If you’re looking to save a bit of money, the AMD Ryzen 7 1700 is also a great choice, offering eight cores and sixteen threads for a lower price tag.
Graphics Card:
In terms of graphics cards, there are really only two choices worth considering: Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1080 Ti or AMD’s Radeon RX Vega 64. Both cards offer excellent performance for 4K gaming and VR experiences.
Storage:
When it comes to storage, you’ll want a fast solid state drive (SSD) for your operating system and games. For this, we recommend something like the Samsung 960 PRO 512GB PCIe SSD. This drive offers sequential read speeds of up to 3200 MB/s and write speeds of up to 1800 MB/s, making it one of the fastest drives on the market today.
Memory:
You’ll want a minimum of 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and for the best performance we recommend something like the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3200MHz kit. This kit offers fast CL16 latency and uses top-quality Samsung B-die chips for reliable performance over time.
Motherboard:
Finally, you’ll need a good gaming motherboard to go with your new build. For this, we recommend something like the ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC). This high-end motherboard offers features like Aura Sync RGB lighting, SupremeFX audio, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and dual M.2 slots for installing multiple SSDs.
